PITTI 91 - MIC, VB, SSI
New collection - New collaboration
The 91st edition of Pitti Immagini Filati, returned to the Fortezza da Basso in Florence, after two years in a reduced version at the Stazione Leopolda, due to Covid.
Attendance figures were more than positive, with the presence of 114 companies including numerous Italian and foreign spinners and companies offering services necessary to the knitting world.
Pitti confirmed its role - in showcasing new yarns, raw materials and production techniques - supporting the teams of many companies in the creative process, also thanks to the contests and sections dedicated to specific topics (e.g. vintage).
The exhibiting companies' focus on sustainable products and processes, no longer a mere trend but a necessary element for every production, was much appreciated.
SHIMA SEIKI, VITTORIO BRANCHIZIO AND MIC SPA
Among the companies present this year was Shima Seiki Italia, which organised a stand with machines in operation and a collection designed by Vittorio Branchizio, in which yarns from various Italian spinning mills, including MIC spa, were used.
The idea behind the Overlapping Illusions collection - by the SSI art-director - is to push to the limit not only the design, but above all the potential of straight, circular and wholegarment knitting machines.
The use of specific and avant-garde techniques, and the crossing of different raw materials and yarns such as wools, cottons, elastomers and polyesters are the basis of VB's innovation, which brings to the market new solutions born from the deepening of what the market already offers, without creating new - unnecessary - productions.
