PITTI IMMAGINE FILATI 91ST EDITION
The Pitti Immagine Filati was held from 19 June to 1 July 2022 at the Fortezza da Basso in Florence (FI).
MIC spa again collaborated with Shima Seiki Italia, supplying high-performance yarns, contributing to the creation of the new collection designed by SSI Art-Director Vittorio Branchizio.
The collection - Overlapping Illusions - comprises 12 outfits that experiment with and take to the limit the possibilities of knitting machines, of which SSI is a world leader.
Yarns supplied by Manifattura Italiana Cucirini were used together with yarns and raw materials from other suppliers to offer contrasts and effects that could not be achieved with traditional knitting yarns.
Innovation and experimentation for fashion are the leitmotif of this edition in the collaboration between Italian excellences.
THE WOVEN COAT
Among the 12 outfits of the Overlapping Illusions collection, Vittorio Branchizio designed a double knit overcoat that uses yarns of different origins, raw materials and specific characteristics to guarantee the garment the right elasticity, heaviness and delicacy in contact with the skin.
MIC has supplied for this garment the ELAN yarn, a continuous and voluminous filament yarn, used for interiors, thanks to its softness and resistance, compared to yarns traditionally used in the world of knitwear.
It took 352' 00'' on the SVR IP 14G machine to produce this garment - characterised by an optical illusion design on the back, visible stitching on the shoulders.
