INDIGO EDEN

A collaboration project by Alessio Berto

For thousands of years, many ancient populations have lived on our planet Earth without damaging it.
It is from this respect for the environment and for future generations that Alessio Berto, owner of The Tailor Pattern Support pattern studio, took inspiration for this intergenerational and inter-artistic exchange project. Everything stems from a pattern-design, based on the characteristics of the materials, creating patterns with organic, engineered and modern lines.

The project consists of a collaboration with certified and transparent companies, students and professionals to create a visionary capsule.

This partnership drawing on young minds and creative visions will be the main exploration of this project.

A concrete, avant-garde capsule inspired by primitive cultures and projecting them into the future, a better future, through better care of manufacturing processes and recycling of materials for garments that last in time and space.

All this to create 5 outfits; with essential features, aspects of utility and care for details and manufacturing processes. The garments will not have gender or belonging but a universal identity.

In the capsule there are also accessories such as gloves, shoes, a space cap and space glasses.

In the production of these garments, there is minimal use of water and the raw materials have been chosen for their intelligent use of chemistry, which is inevitable in industrial processes for creating materials with technical and natural characteristics.

Some of the selected materials will consist of minerals such as Graphene and rare earths, essential for the technology of the future, or Dyneema molecules that are much stronger than steel, combined with recycled polyesters and metals.

These will be combined with natural materials such as silk, hemp, organic cotton, sugar beet
vegetable rubber, potatoes and maize.

These materials will give the garments general characteristics such as water repellency, cut resistance, thermoregulation, antibacterial, antistatic and fireproof functions.

These seeds will ideally be planted with a future world free of hunger and disease in mind. The project is presented with a 33-page PDF file with all the technical specifications to demonstrate transparency.

The garments within this visionary capsule will not be released on the market, they will be available as a symbol of courageous change and inspiration for other new and intelligent collaborations, heading towards a different future.
