Burgundy Signal
Lost in Translation
MIC strengthens its position as a creative and technological partner in contemporary knitwear with the use of its elastic yarn EXTÉ 2.7 Strong in the “Lost in Translation” capsule, designed by Leonie Van Balen for Shima Seiki Italia and debuted at the 96th edition of Pitti Filati.
The collection comprises five knitwear pieces exploring the theme of glitch as a visual and conceptual interference. Broken lines, distortions, overlays, and unexpected textures translate digital errors into aesthetic and material language. Two pieces in particular highlight the expressive potential of EXTÉ 2.7, which guarantees conformity, flexibility, and three-dimensionality, proving to be a true ally in constructing complex, experimental silhouettes.
Burgundy Signal
A disrupted signal that becomes vision.
Burgundy Signal is an ensemble composed of a fully fashioned pullover and cut-panel trousers, both made from blended yarns with strong elastic content ensuring a snug, dynamic fit. The glitch graphic is accentuated by a screen-printed distortion effect.
Completed by a two-tone floating-jacquard jacket: the right side is reverse-knitted to create a godet effect, while the left follows a conventional structure—producing a formal tension that amplifies the sense of interference.
This technical and graphic play is enabled by synergy between materials and machinery. Once again, the elastic yarn EXTÉ 2.7 Strong by MIC becomes a construction tool, shaping form, fit, and tactile depth.
