ELASTIC YARN FOR SHIMA SEIKI ITALIA
COLLABORATION AT PITTI: STYLE, TECHNIQUE, YARNS
The summer edition of Pitti Filati 2021 was the setting for the collaboration between two realities that seem far apart, but are ready for an innovative launch: Shima Seiki Italia and Manifattura Italiana Cucirini.
Shima Seiki Italia is a leading company in the sale of knitting machines and dedicated software, and is headquartered in Wakayama - Japan. With three showrooms in Italy, visited by designers from all over the world and where experiments on new fashion trends take place.
MIC produces yarns for ready-to-wear and knitwear, based in Vallese (VR) - Italy. With its 450 colours in stock service and a wide range of yarns, it serves the fashion world throughout Europe and North Africa.
The point of contact between the two companies was the partnership with Vittorio Branchizio, art director of SSI, and his Capsule Collection F/W 22/23: V.B. presented in Florence a series of garments developed with the collaboration of unconventional spinning mills in the world of knitting yarns.
EXTÉ IN THE CAPSULE COLLECTION BRANCHIZIO
In the Branchizio collection a garment stands out, made entirely with Exté, an elastic yarn from MIC spa, on the FIRST 124 F21 machine, unique for its 21 gauge among knitting machines. The garment is a straight, 5-thread, 4-colour, jacquard knit.
Increasingly in demand and used, the elastic yarn has been studied and added to the MIC product range for customers producing stretch and sportswear or for work requiring details finished in the same colour as the fabric.
The wide choice of colours and finenesses available on stock of Exté elastic yarn is a strong point for MIC, as well as an optimal solution in the knitting field.
